On Sunday, Feb. 26, the Charlotte Fire Department, UNC Charlotte Police and Public Safety and other first responders will conduct a small-scale exercise to test response to a simulated medical emergency on Toby Creek Greenway.
This mock exercise, scheduled for approximately 10 a.m., will involve one fire engine and a few members of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department along with officers from the University’s Police and Public Safety Department. According to officials, the simulation will involve an “injured” individual who calls for assistance. First responders will coordinate efforts to efficiently locate, treat and remove the “patient” for transport.
This simulation will be confined to the greenway.
