Atkins Library using digital resources to free up space

Summary:

The collections within the J. Murrey Atkins Library have grown faster within the past two years than any other comparable period in its history.

According to library officials, the majority of the new collections are research journal “backfiles,” which can be accessed via any computer. Because the backfiles are older issues of journals that are now electronic, the library is removing selected print journals to optimize its limited shelf space.
