Erma the Bookworm visits students

Earlier this month, personnel from the campus’ academic services unit staked their claim in support of the local nonprofit organization Promising Pages. The group wrapped 500 books collected through a campus drive and delivered them to the organization.

TIAA-CREF will hold financial literacy events for students enrolled in Governor’s Village schools during April. At each event, sessions will be offered on budgeting, smart shopping, credit scores and risk/insurance. Volunteers are needed to greet students and direct participants.

Students from three Governor's Village schools, Alexander Elementary, James Martin Middle and Vance High, will visit campus later this month.

During their stay, the students will spend the school day with faculty and staff members. Chancellor Philip L. Dubois will welcome each group, who will tour the campus and eat lunch in one of the University’s dining venues.

In support of a University initiative to cultivate support and collaboration in surrounding counties, three UNC Charlotte senior leaders recently met with the Gaston County Economic Development Commission.

Twelfth Night

A new generation of high school students is learning more about the plays of William Shakespeare through an outreach effort by the College of Arts + Architecture’s Department of Theatre.  For  two-months, students and faculty from the department are presenting “Twelfth Night” in  area high schools.
